Headies 2018 Winners List

The 2018 Edition of the Headies Awards went down yesterday, at the Eko Conventional Centre, Victoria Island, lagos.

The Headies (previously known as Hip Hop World Awards), since 2006 has been recognizing and celebrating outstanding achievement in the Nigerian music industry.

The 12th edition of the award show has just come to an end (as at the time of reporting this) and below is the Headies 2018 Winners List.

Wizkid, Simi and DMW boss Davido were the biggest winners of the night.

Wizkid won four awards – Headies Viewers Choice Award (Come Closer), Best Music Video (Come Closer), Best RnB/Pop Album (Sounds From the Other Side), and Best Collabo, for his feature in Tiwa Savage‘s Ma Lo.

Simi carted home the Best RnB Single for Smile for Me, the Best Recording of the Year for Joromi, and her album – Simisola – won the Album of the Year.

Davido’s IF won the Best Pop Single and Song of the Year categories, and was also named the Artiste of the Year.

Best Alternative Song: Fun mi lo wo mi – Aramide feat. Sound Sultan & Koker

African Artiste of the Year: Nasty C

Headies Viewers’ Choice: Come Closer – Wizkid

Best Music Video: Come Closer – Wizkid. Directed by Daps

Best Vocal Performance (Female): Butterflies – Omawumi

Best Vocal Performance (Male): Folashade – Praiz

Best RnB/Pop Album: Sounds from the Other Side – Wizkid

Awards were also presented to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Globacom, MTN, Nigerian Breweries Plc., and Pepsi, Hennessy.

Wizkid’s son King Ayo, ‘styled up’ in new photos

Wizkid’s second son,King Ayo is a spitting image of his famous dad . The little man also has swag and style ,thanks to his Guinean mum,Binta Diallo . The son of the Nigerian Superstar turned 2 earlier this year in January. Recall that Wizkid was accused of being a deadbeat father by Binta last two years, but has now finally owned up to his son. Despite the baby boy being named after him, Wizkid swiftly denied fathering her child. Binta Diamond Diallo then fired back by saying that Wizkid is a deadbeat dad who has not seen his son. Binta even went as far as doing a paternity test which came out positive. Binta Diamond also named her son Ayodeji Balogun and opened an Instagram page for him with the handle “King Ayo”
